AVN ANE/AEE Expo

Tuesday morning I returned on the red eye from my first trip to the AVN ANE/AEE Show. If you don't know what that is, it's the Adult Video News' Adult Novelty Expo and Adult Entertainment Expo. Yeah, that's a lot to say. Many folks refer to it as the "Porn Convention".

It was a long ride home, but I'm home and I can say that I ran straight to my bed and collapsed for a few hours. Hotel beds can be so nice, but there's nothing like my own bed.

On my flight out, I had a connection in Philly and apparently more than half of the people on the plane were on their way to CES. I felt like I was the only one going to the AVN, sitting between two guys who had their laptops out and were connected to the plane's Wi-Fi.

I'd attended the Novelty Expo in Florida back in August and knew that THIS was the event to attend so I could see the people I had met in Florida again and to see what else is new in the novelty world.

So lemme tell you that this place was a mad house! I was fortunate enough to have an exhibitor's badge so I was able to get in during the trade days and hit up the AEE side before the fans had access. I'd jump back and forth between the trade side and the AEE side. When it got too crazy on the AEE side, I'd be back at the trade side where there was more of a sense of calm.

Some things I saw:
-- met Je Joue's newest additions to their product line -- Mimi and Ami. I now have my own and I'm excited to try them so I can post my reviews. I can say that Mimi is definitely small and mighty. The more I held her, the more I liked her.

-- visited the guys at the Toyfriend booth. They were brave enough to have their booth on the AEE side. I have a feeling that they found lots of new fans because Toyfriends were flying off their shelves! Yay! If you haven't seen them yet, check out their site and you'll see how fun the line is! My favorite Toyfriend is "Coney", by the way.

-- of course checked out the OhMiBod booth since they were right across from Je Joue. Their newest addition, the Freestyle G was there for me to check out, along with the app they just released, "Body Heat". It lets someone control an OhMiBod using their iPhone, iPod or iPad. Check it out. I have it and it's pretty sweet! Jay Leno even mentioned the app on his show Friday night because he heard that they were at CES! Yep, OhMiBod decided to play with the "big boys" and set up another booth at CES this year! I hear they were the talk of the show, too. I'm guessing CES doesn't get a lot of vibrators there. ;-)
-- went around the corner to njoy's booth and got to see some prototypes that Greg had up his sleeve. I'm pretty excited about them!

-- checked out the newest flavors that Sliquid came out with for their "Swirl" line. Strawberry Pomegranate is my new favorite! Pink Lemonade is pretty good, too....

-- got to touch LELO's newest line -- "Insignia". They're waterproof and really beautiful. That's a line I hope we pick up.
-- met NINA HARTLEY!!! Yay! She was so awesome! I think I was most excited about meeting her. She's been such an inspiration to me. I have her book and I refer to it quite a bit. When we first met, she asked me if I ever got annoyed with people trying to pick me all of the time because of my small stature. We then talked about my work and she asked if they take me seriously because I look younger than I am. I explained that because I'm in a college town, the girls relate to me a bit easier, but yes, sometimes people don't treat me seriously because I'm "cute". But she had words of encouragement for me as well. Telling me to keep doing what I do.
I didn't know anything about her health issues until after I got back from the trip.
If you would like to help Nina out, please follow this link. I've made my donation. :-)

I even checked out the Liberator booth quite a few times during the show. I couldn't help but fondle the Amore Rocker... it just felt soooo nice. And then I set in their Cello... OMG. I waaaaaaaant!

Hanging out at the Liberator booth was Angel Vain, who was on hand for fan photos and autographs. She was fun to chat with and to take pics with towards the end of a long last day.

This trip showed me some new products to keep an eye out for. I learned so much because I actually went to most of the seminars that were available. :-p

Seeing the folks I met at the last expo in Florida was kind of like when you went back to summer camp and ran into old friends. It was so great to sit and chat away from the madness of the show.

Who knows what opportunities lay ahead in the future for me. But I can't wait to sling some of this stuff too! Hope FYP will pick up the favorites that I've seen at this show! :-)

the "what if"

I am not a fan of the "what if"... :-/

It can be tough to find someone who appreciates, respects, and understands what I do. It's been really rare actually. So when I meet someone like that, of course he's on the other side of the planet.

The "what if" isn't realistic in any way shape or form. We won't ever be in the same country together. And that sucks.

Left with a fond memory. And hopefully a lovely friend to chat with from time to time...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend!

Look at what FYP has for the season....

Recently released by Liberator®, the Heart Wedge® is here for the holiday season for a limited time! "The Heart Wedge® combines the sexual positioning support of the Liberator Shapes with a limited edition heart design that is perfect for holiday décor and gift-giving (if you can give it up!).
The Heart Wedge is a more compact version of the Liberator's classic Wedge® shape. The design of the Liberator Shape blends undeniable aesthetic appeal with functionality. Created from contoured furniture grade foam, the heart shape is ergonomically designed to fit a person's backside, making it ideal for positioning under the pelvis. The foam support also features a gentle incline that allows for deeper penetration and G-spot positioning.
Available for a limited time only, Liberator Heart Wedge is covered in lush, velvish fabric in deep merlot red. The Heart Wedge appeals to both Liberator collectors and first-time buyers."
The Heart Wedge is absolutely gorgeous that you'll want to leave it right on your bed as a decorative pillow. I love the way the velvish fabric feels against my skin and a bonus is that it's easily removed for washing.
Want it? Gotta have it? It's available ONLY to my Hostesses who host Parties from January 6th-February 28th. The Heart Wedge retails for $99. Host a $300 Party, you'll get the Hostess Special worth $113.50 (including the Wedge) for only $39! Host a $500 Party, you'll get the Hostess Special worth $154 (incl. the Wedge) for only $49! Aaaand, when you host a $750 Party, you can get BOTH specials, which mean 2 Heart Wedges! So you could be a super-awesome friend and give one away if you like. ;-) What a steal, huh?
If you've always been curious about the Liberator line, this is the perfect opportunity for you to give it a try!

8th Annual "Polar Bear Plunge"

So on the first Saturday of December, over 150 people gathered at the boat dock at Bald Eagle State Park to plunge themselves into a lake for the YMCA of Centre County's 8th Annual "Polar Bear Plunge". And of course the State College Young Professionals brought our magic (or insanity).

The air was 29 degrees and the water was 36 this year. Brrrrr!

I was shaking people down for donations all month long, even "renting" out body parts to local businesses. Heck yeah! All that so I could go in as a Super Plunger -- plunging 3 times!

And I definitely went in for my three plunges -- going in twice with the Super Plungers and then once with the Young Pros. The first two times weren't too bad. That third time was a doozie cuz I had a few minutes to get semi-dry and warm before our plunge. When I went in for that third plunge, I think my muscles seized. My one partner pretty much had to drag me out of the water cuz my legs did not want to move. And then as my spotter tried to dry me off and get me warm, anything that touched my skin felt like knives. Ouch. (can you see the pain in my eyes? and that's just after the first two plunges)

It was all totally worth it. I now have bragging rights cuz I not only went into that water, I went in THREE times!

Plus, my awesome donors helped me hit and exceed my mark with $765 in donations! They also helped the Young Pros win the award for "Most Money Raised by a Group/Organization" with just over $3,200 raised! Woo hoo! Definitely not bad for only our second time participating. :-)

I'm so excited for next year's plunge!

I'm Taking the "Plunge" Again!

It's that time of you year again! In a couple of day, I'll be doing the "Polar Bear Plunge" again to help raise money for the YMCA of Centre County.

I'm plunging with the State College Young Professionals again and last year we raised over $2,000 and we're hoping to raise even more this year!

Last year, the weather was 31 degrees, with the water at 37. It's been snowing here so let's see what we get in a couple of days. Oh my....

So I'm on a donation shakedown and asking for more tax-deductible online donations.

There's still time for you to make your donation! :-)

Just go to: http://bit.ly/PamelaLuu and make your donation before Saturday morning's plunge.

As an incentive, for every $20 that you donate, you'll be entered to win a "Gigi" from me!

2nd Annual Date Auction

October 26th marked the date of the 2nd Annual State College Young Professionals' Date Auction: Meet the Challenge. Just like last year, the Date Auction raised money for The Second Mile (specifically the scholarship program for their Challenge Camp).

Again, 20 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes from the State College area were up on the auction block - myself included. Local businesses donated various gift certificates for the dates -- bowling, theater tickets, dinners, a wine tasting -- while others donated food for everyone in attendance to nibble on. And new to this year, we even added a raffle drawing, selling tickets for a chance to win prizes also donated by area businesses (of course there was something from me!).

This year's event was such a success! Just so you get the idea, last year we raised about $4600 (pretty awesome for a group that had been in existence about 5 months).

This year? What did we raise? We raised $7100!!!! How awesome! We totally destroyed last year!!! I totally "bought" 2 people. Hey, all in the name of charity. Tee hee!

I'm amazed that I was "bought" for $1,000 (the highest bid for the night). I'm lucky to have some really awesome people in my life (the photo is me with my "owners")! That $1,000 will send 2 kids to camp, so the money we raised that night will send 14 kids to camp!!! Go us!!

We're always willing to accept donations at our various outreach events. The next big event I'm participating in is the "Polar Bear Plunge" to raise money for the YMCA of Centre County! Yep, AGAIN!! If you're a State College young professional and you're interested in the Plunge -- either plunging or spotting -- let us know! We could use more Plungers!

MEXICO!!!

In September, I was fortunate enough to enjoy a weeklong vacation in Cancun, Mexico. And all on "For Your Pleasure's" dime! This was the FREE TRIP that I earned with the company and it was soooo awesome! What made it more amazing was that we were lucky enough that it was all-inclusive! Ohhhh yeah... the food was on my mind.

I spent the week lazing by the pool with a trip to Chichen Itza, a visit to Selvatica for some ziplining, a visit to a local market for real carnitas and orchata, and a trip to XCaret. And, many late-night trips to the 24-hour spot that had gelato... yummm...

Cancun is so beautiful -- with its soft, soft sand... amazingly blue waters (the colors seemed so unreal), beautiful people...

We stayed at the Cancun Caribe Park Royal Grand (yeah, try memorizing THAT name. it took me the entire week) where the staff was so accommodating and friendly. The food there was so yummy. I may not have had any alcohol, but I certainly ate my fair share!

What a much-needed vacation!

Risky "research"

So it turns out it is possible for vigorous product "research" to cause carpal tunnel syndromes. Yep.

AVN Expo

I recently had the opportunity to attend the AVN Trade Show in Hollywood, FL and it was an unforgettable experience! For someone like me, who loves to learn as much as possible about products and the brands that make them, it was heaven! I was able to meet the people behind the creations of some of my favorite toys and I'll always remember that.

Driving over 20 hours alone to get there... And yes, not even 36 hours after I got into a car accident. Nothing was getting in my way! I admit, I toyed with the idea after I received the invitation. Could I really afford to go? Could I really afford NOT to go? I decided I couldn't afford not to go. And when I have a friend offering me a place to crash while I was there, my rental car and I were on our way!

It was a weekend of networking, learning, and meeting amazing people.

I got to chat with the folks from OhMiBod, LELO, njoy, and Je Joue. Oooh, totally got to meet the man who designed SaSi!!! Holy cow!!! I can't even tell you how many times I thanked him for creating her! So now I'm excited to try out my own "G-Ki" since it won the award for Overall Design for Women. I'll let you know what I think when I do... ;-)

Seriously, why wouldn't I want to tap into their brains a little more? I was given the opportunity and I took it!

There were brands there that I'd never heard of but got to know and hope you will get to know them soon, including Tickler who makes the awesomely cute "Toyfriend" toys and Laid with their pretty sweet looking designs.

The "O" Awards also took place over the weekend.

Nominees included njoy, OhMiBod, Je Joue, LELO and Shunga. So awesome!!! Cuz we carry them!! :-)

A few winners were Je Joue, LELO, and Shunga. The rest of the winners can be found here.

I may have to check out another expo....
